Bunless Burgers

I love a good burger. I especially love a flavorful burger without feeling lethargic afterward. I started eating my burgers without buns about 5 years ago. By doing this, I took away the carbs. Without the bun, I was able to taste and enjoy all the ingredients even more.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 2 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp cracked pepper
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- Shredded cheese
- Tomato
- Red onion
- Romaine lettuce
- Avocado
- Bacon
- 1 egg (optional)
- Pickles (optional)
- Additional condiments (Your choice)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Measure 1/3 cup of shredded cheese and make into a circle, spreading evenly. Make 2 circles, spaced at least 3 inches apart.
- Bake for 5 minutes or until little holes have appeared in the surface and the edges begin to brown. I like my edge golden brown.
- Remove from oven and transfer to paper towel to soak up any excess grease. NOTE: Allow cheese crisp to rest for 2 minutes to harden.
- Slice tomato, red onion, and lettuce; set aside.
- Fry desired strips of bacon and set aside.
- Combine ground beef, pepper, salt, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
- Gently form mixture into 8 patties.
- Heat grill or skillet to high.
- Cook patties 2-3 minutes per side (if you make them thicker, you’ll need to cook them longer).
- Assemble burgers with remaining ingredients as desired with lettuce on the top and bottom to hold ingredients in.
- Add a fried egg desired.
