Sponsored ads, we all see them on social media right. A few weeks ago, I spotted this ad that caught my attention. It was a mold of two hands. Some were a parent and child, some were a child’s hands, or the hands of a couple. Now,you know how things ordered from the internet can be, right? It is either a scam, where you order it and never receive it or…….it arrives in the mail in miniature size. I know I am not the only one who is experienced this right?
Anyways, so I did my research, and the reviews were surprisingly good. My question was, will it turn out like it is supposed to. Eh, let us give it a try. Plus, it has been weeks since I ordered something online. Insert eye roll. I mean, it will be a great surprise for my husband.
The package showed up and I was so excited. We opened the box and pulled out a bucket with the directions and items inside. We mixed the first package with water, poured it in the bucket, stuck out hands in, and waited ten minutes. Ten minutes?! Uhhhhh, I am going to feel like a little kid. Can I even stay still that long?
Michael and I held hands and in they went. Yea the ten minutes went something like, “Stay still, no you stay still.” This was followed by lots of laughter which made the experience even better. After the ten minutes was up, we carefully wiggled our hands out. We then quickly, mixed the last packet and water together and poured that inside the mold. Then we let it sit for four hours.
Four hours later, it was time for the big reveal. We dumped the bucket upside down on the counter gently and carefully lifted it. A big blue jelly blob is how I describe it. We carefully started removing the jelly and revealed the beautiful hand mold we created. Wow! How exciting! You can see every crease in our hands and details in our fingers. You can see the details in my nails so clearly (thank goodness I had literally just got them done the day prior). We
used a small tool that came with the package to remove the blue jelly from small areas.
Overall, I would give this project an eight of ten. I loved the experience and the actual product, but I feel the directions could have been better and it was a little hard to get the jelly out of smaller areas. It does look great on our table though. Give it a try.
